NDS received FDA 510(k) clearance in May 2017 for its highly-anticipated ZeroWire® Mobile
ORANGE COUNTY, Calif., October 10, 2017 (Newswire.com) - NDS received FDA 510(k) clearance in May 2017 for its highly anticipated ZeroWire® Mobile — a medical-grade battery-powered display stand specifically designed for endoscopy environments. An innovative secondary monitor solution, ZeroWire Mobile aims to transform technology into a clinical solution to support the improvement of patient outcomes, procedural efficiency, and the lowering of operational costs.
Innovative Design
We are driven to innovate new technologies that give clinical teams the flexibility, ease-of-use, and efficiencies they are looking for in critical care applications. By removing display cables, ZeroWire Mobile helps eliminate tripping hazards and permits the untethered mobility of endoscopy displays. An additional feature is the small wheel base of ZeroWire Mobile which offers flexible positioning in tight spaces. Once situated, the wheels can be locked into place for secure disposition. The monitor on a ZeroWire Mobile stand can also be relocated from room to room and efficiently paired with a wireless video transmitter, potentially expediting turnaround times.
The device can be used in tandem with the ZeroWire G2 external wireless HD video transmission platform, compatible with both medical and non-medical devices. ZeroWire G2 utilizes a point-to-point tracking system that locks the transmitter and receiver together, avoiding signal loss when moved.
The ZeroWire Mobile display stand supports two sealed and cleanable power modules. When a power module is running low, LED light bars and an audible alarm will indicate when it is time for a replacement. The batteries can be easily exchanged or “hot-swapped” with fresh power modules from the wall-mounted charging system in cases of extended operation. With two fully charged power modules, ZeroWire Mobile can power an NDS 32-inch monitor for up to five hours of continuous operation.
“We are driven to innovate new technologies that give clinical teams the flexibility, ease-of-use, and efficiencies they are looking for in critical care applications,” said Darko Spoljaric, Vice President of Global Marketing at NDS. “ZeroWire Mobile is designed specifically for the endoscopic environment, with a view to providing a medical-grade, highly mobile imaging solution.”
Michael Thomas, Director of Marketing at Ampronix, is impressed with the innovative technology NDS has created, stating, “The seamless combination of wireless connectivity and versatility in movement make ZeroWire Mobile a great addition to any operating or procedure room.”
